Kick off summer with a free BBQ brought to you by the Maverick Calgary-Heritage EDA with generous support from the Maverick Foothills EDA. Meet with fellow Mavericks, learn the inner workings of an EDA, and relax by a summer fire. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are free. We invite all Southern Alberta Mavericks to make it out as we want to make it very clear to the other parties that we are not going away.
Maverick’s path to success is not without hard work. Let us show you the work we do behind the scenes. For this one day, the best thing you can do to help is to attend.
RSVPing can be done through the website if you have access to your My Maverick credentials. Otherwise, you can RSVP by email by contacting the event organizer below. Letting us know you are attending ahead of time ensures we have enough supplies for everyone.
Cost
There is no cost to attend. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be free thanks to our sponsors. Alcohol will be sold to assist in fundraising efforts.
This event invitation is extended to all Maverick supporters. If you decide to get involved with the EDAs, you will need to ensure your Maverick membership has not expired. We can check your membership status and process renewals at the event.
We will be accepting donations to go towards covering the remaining costs of this year and building the war chest on the road to the election expected to be held Fall 2025. You can donate up to $20 in cash. Anything over $20 must be done by cheque or credit card. Cheques can be made out to “Calgary Heritage EDA Maverick Party”. We can also process credit card donations using our secure portal.
Getting There
The blue sign address is 178190 128 St W Foothills County. 128 St is the south road at the first intersection west of the Red Deer Lake turnoff on 22X. If you live along Hwy 22, then taking that highway to 22X and heading east will get you there.
If you do not have a vehicle, we can arrange a ride for anyone who can make it to the Somerset C-Train station in Calgary. Anyone who would like a ride or to offer to give rides should email the event organizer below.
What to Expect
There is no formal programming or entertainment as this is a social event and we want to hear from everyone. We will have representatives from the Maverick Board of Governors, EDA presidents, and EDA volunteers present to answer your questions. This is an outdoor event but we have contingency plans in case of bad weather. Expect a nice relaxing campfire and the smell of sizzling meat.
